A Southwest flight waiting for departure clipped another airplane Friday at Midway International Airport in Chicago.

Southwest Airlines flight 654 was taxiing out to depart to Birmingham about 12:23 p.m. when the wingtip struck the tail of Southwest Airlines flight 751, according to a Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson.

Flight 751 had arrived from Washington and was waiting to taxi to the arrival gate when it was clipped, officials said.

All passengers were evacuated from both flights, officials said.

Both airplanes will be inspected before future flights, according to police.
