Southwark stabbing: Teen charged with murder over fatal stabbing of 18-year-old

A teenager has been charged with murder over the fatal stabbing of an 18-year-old in south London earlier this year.

McCaulay Urugbezi-Edwards ​was found with stab wounds in Tiverton Street, Southwark, on Sunday, May 5.

He was rushed to hospital, where he later died the same day.

Scotland Yard confirmed today a 17-year-old male had been charged with his murder.

A statement from the Met Police said: "A 17-year-old male was charged with murder at Lewisham police station on Wednesday, July 10.

"He has been remanded in custody, to appear at Bromley Magistrates Court on Thursday, July 11."

Mr Urugbezi-Edwards cause of death was determined to be a stab wound to the left thigh.
