Southwark stabbing: Young man knifed to death in broad daylight as 'fight' breaks out in south London

A young man has been stabbed to death in broad daylight on a busy road in south London.

Police said they received reports of several men fighting shortly before officers found the victim on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services rushed to Great Dover Street, a short distance from Borough station, shortly before 5.30pm.

The victim, believed to be 19, was discovered with stab injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Scotland Yard later confirmed three men and a women were arrested nearby.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were also called as London's Air Ambulance landed nearby.

A police spokesman said: "Formal identification and a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.

"Officers are at the scene and an urgent investigation has been launched.

"Cordons are in place at several locations in the area.

"A Section 60 order has been authorised and police will be conducting additional patrols."
