It was South Sydney's biggest and most unforgettable NRL win in a 113-season rivalry with the Sydney Roosters.
But Rabbitohs centre Campbell Graham says talk of last year's record-breaking 60-8 rout of the Roosters is virtually taboo in the lead-up to Friday night's return derby at Stadium Australia.
Graham says as enjoyable as the win was, the table-topping Roosters need no added ammunition to gain sweet revenge having already opened 2021 in spectacular fashion with 40-point thrashings of Wests Tigers and Manly.
"It hasn't been spoken about here at all," Graham said.
"They might use that as motivation but that was last season and you look at their first two performances this year, you see they're another top team so if we start looking back at that game, we'll get our pants pulled down.
"They've scored the most points and, from what I've seen, they've been pretty impressive again.
"They have been the last few years so we know we're going to have to be on our game."
While there's been no gloating at Redfern, Graham also knows there remains no love lost between the arch rivals heading into their latest showdown.
"I've grown up in the area. It's competitive hate," he said.
"I love playing the Roosters. It's a game you mark on the calendar and you get up for.
"It definitely takes no added motivation to get up for these games. It's likewise over there, I'm sure.
"So it's going to be a fiery clash, I imagine."
But Graham cautioned his teammates against crossing the line and getting too amped up for battle.
"You've got to focus on playing good footy," he said.
"That's what we want to do and the best way to come out on top of the rivalry is to win the game ultimately.
"It's not about showing who's tough or anything like. It's about who's going to perform on the night.
"So that's what we're focused on."
