Southport Pleasureland is giving £40 worth of ride tokens free to emergency services staff

Southport Pleasureland is rewarding emergency services staff by giving away free ride tokens this weekend.

Anyone working for the police, fire, ambulance, NHS and more can get £50 worth of tokens for the theme park if they buy £10 worth.

The annual event is planned to 'recognise and reward our emergency services and all the great work you do'.

There are a limited number of passes available - one per emergency services worker - and you need to book online here .

Simply book and pay for £10 of ride tokens online and you will receive an extra £40 of ride tokens for free to use this Saturday, June 15.

The website states: "Our Emergency Services Day is open to workers in ambulance, police, fire service, all armed forces (full time and reserves), doctors and nurses, NHS workers, prison officers, lifeboat station workers, border patrol and anyone else involved as long as they are a direct employee of the emergency services."

The park opens from 11am to 6pm on Saturday and rides cost from £1 each.

Rides for little ones range from teacups and a carousel to canoes and a funhouse, while for older ones there are more than 15 rides including the Looping Coaster and the Sling Shot.

Anyone who books must take their emergency services ID along on the day.
