Southport food and drink festival 2021: Full guide to this year's event

Southport Food and Drink festival is set to make its long-awaited return this weekend after being cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

The three day festival, which takes place in Southport's Victoria Park from September 3 to 5, is anticipated to attract thousands of visitors.

Described as a 'foodies paradise' visitors can expect to enjoy a range of food from crepes and gourmet burgers to spiral potatoes and various curries with free entry.

Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills, previously said : "The Southport Food & Drink Festival is finally returning and I know this will be music to everyone's ears!

"Our teams have worked hard to ensure we can host a safe and enjoyable bumper weekend of the best food, drink and much more for thousands of visitors.

"Foodie fans will love the hand-picked selection of the region’s most passionate producers, all of whom will be bringing their wares to the festival, including a wide selection of gift ideas and treats to relish at home.

"You can also keep your little ones entertained with a free Children’s Festival, along with arts and crafts, magic shows, storytelling and sports workshops.

"It's guaranteed to be a fantastic weekend and we want as many people as possible to come along and enjoy the fun.

"The Southport Food & Drink Festival is one of the most iconic events in our events calendar and we are delighted that we are able to bring it back for 2021."

Local bands and musicians will be also be performing so you can dance away all those extra calories that are on offer.

The festival will run from 2pm to 8pm on Friday and from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. Parking is available.
