Fans of The Chase rushed to support a Southport contestant on today's episode of The Chase.
Four new players appeared on the popular ITV gameshow and took on Chaser Anne Hegerty in a bid to win thousands of pounds.
First up to take on The Governess was Alan, a 62-year-old photographer from Southport.

Alan built up an impressive £6,000 in the cashbuilder, but was left perplexed during his head-to-head with Anne Hegerty when he saw the options to a question he was convinced he knew the answer to.
Bradley Walsh asked: "Which song has been recommended as a beat to help perform CPR?"
And Alan was left scratching his head when he saw the options were either 'Polly Put the Kettle On, Nellie the Elephant or Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.'
He said: "Tough one, tough call. I thought it was Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees."
And fans of the show took to Twitter to agree they thought the disco classic would be one of the choices.
Robert questioned: "when did it change from Stayin' Alive?"
Kay commented: "I thought staying alive tbh?"
Steve added: "Staying alive staying alive."
Bradley Walsh clarified: "That was the one on the telly."
Alan opted for the correct answer of Nellie the Elephant, before Anne Hegerty agreed she also thought it was going to be the Bee Gees' hit.
The Southport man successfully navigated his way back home for the Final Chase where he was joined by Nu and Rory to compete for a combined total of £14,000.
The team built up an impressive 17 steps and after some successful pushbacks from Alan they successfully beat The Chaser to take home the cash prize.
The Chase continues tomorrow at 5pm on ITV and ITVHub
