Southmead stabbing: Man walks into Tesco after being stabbed in chest

A police investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed in the chest in Southmead.

The victim, who is in his 20s, walked into the Tesco Express store on Greystoke Avenue at at 10pm last night (October 30) with the injury to his chest.

The man received treatment at the scene.

A large police presence was seen in the area last night.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A police spokesman said: “We’re investigating an incident which happened in the Greystoke Avenue area of Southmead last night in which a man sustained a stab wound.

“The man, aged in his 20s, entered Tesco at approximately 10pm with the injury to his chest.

“He subsequently received treatment at the scene.

"Anyone who witnessed an altercation in the area, or who has information about how the man may have sustained the injury, is asked to call 101 and provide the call handler with the reference 5220245377.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
