A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder after a 37-year-old was stabbed to death in north London.
Police found the male victim on tree-lined Queen Elizabeth’s Drive, Southgate just after 2pm on Sunday.
Paramedics attended the road where homes sell for over £1.2million and rushed him to hospital.
Despite the efforts of medics, the man died around two hours later. His family have been informed.
Two men, aged 21 and 30, were arrested that afternoon.
The 21-year-old man, named by police as Kozma Papa, of Bristol, was arrested by Met officers in a car which was stopped in Hertfordshire.
He has since been charged with murder and is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Tuesday morning.
The other man has been released without further action.
Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, the senior Met officer responsible for policing Enfield and Haringey, said on Monday: “This is a shocking incident that will no doubt cause concern to the community.
"I share those concerns, and I can assure local people that dedicated detectives are investigating and we are working at pace with partner organisations to establish exactly what happened and who was responsible.
“Local people will see additional patrols in the Southgate area. Anyone with information or concerns should speak with those officers. They are there to support you.”
A Scotland Yard spokesman added: “A crime scene is in place and anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has doorbell or dash cam footage that could help us, should call police immediately.”
