Southbound Red Line service resumes after track blockage cleared

CTA Red Line service was disrupted Dec. 26, 2020. | Sun-Times file photo

Southbound CTA Red Line trains are running normally again after an earlier track blockage Saturday near the Sox-35th stop.

The transit authority halted southbound service about 11:50 a.m. between the Roosevelt and 95th/Dan Ryan stations, citing “debris on the tracks” near the Sox-35th station.

The debris was cleared and trains were running again by 12:45 p.m., the CTA said.

Expect residual delays as the Red Line resumes normal service.
