Southbound started in Western Australia as a single-day festival for music fans on the nation’s west coast, more than a decade ago. Now the state’s major music and camping festival has expanded to include an arts program, sustainable initiatives and StageBound, where unsigned artists can perform.
Highlights at this year’s festival include a dress-up night and a big top tent with comedy, burlesque and circus performers, but the music line-up remains the centrepiece with a spectacular line up of musicians.
This year Alpine, Art vs Science, Birds of Tokyo, Bloc Party, Courtney Barnett, Disclosure, Foals, Gang of Youths, Hiatus Kaiyote, Hilltop Hoods, Jarryd James, Kilter, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Little May, Mac DeMarco, Meg Mac, Oh Wonder, Paul Kelly and the Merri Soul Sessions, Rufus, San Cisco, The Wombats and Weird Al Yankovic will all take to the stage.
