Southampton stun Tottenham as Yan Valery and James Ward-Prowse derail Mauricio Pochettino's top-four pursuit

Tottenham were stunned by a late Southampton comeback as they crashed to a 2-1 Premier League defeat at St Mary's.

Spurs, title challengers a fortnight ago, now face a battle to stay in the top four after a fourth match without a win.

Harry Kane put them ahead after finishing a cross from the returning Dele Alli for a seventh goal in his last five games against Saints.

But Yan Valery bundled in a 76th-minute equaliser before James Ward-Prowse added another exquisite free-kick to his collection nine minutes from time.

Victory kept Southampton out of the relegation zone after Cardiff secured a huge win of their own in the survival battle.

There's plenty to play for at both ends of the table in today's 3pm kick offs. Spurs are at Southampton, who need points to keep themselves above the bottom three. Tottenham, without a win in three league games, are hoping to strengthen their grip on third place.

At Huddersfield, Bournemouth will be looking to improve their dismal away record. The Cherries have lost 11 of their 14 games on the road this season, but face a Huddersfield team with just two home wins.

Newcastle host Everton at St James' Park, while Cardiff, who occupy the final relegation spot as things stand, face midtable West Ham. And at the King Power Stadium, Brendan Rodgers is looking for his first win as Foxes boss against struggling Fulham.
Dele Alli makes a welcome return for Spurs today.
KICK OFF
The five 3pm kick offs are underway!
GOAL!
GOAL! Cardiff 1-0 West Ham (Hoilett)

4 minutes

Cardiff take an early lead. An error from Ryan Fredericks allows Victor Camarasa to set up Hoilett, who duly finishes and puts the hosts in front.
Southampton 0-0 Tottenham

6 minutes

Spurs have started quickly at St Mary's. Harry Kane has already come close twice, firing one shot just wide and another over the bar. Mauricio Pochettino is back at his former club, of course, so he'll be eager to leave with three points.
Southampton 0-0 Tottenham

12 minutes

Kane has another opportunity, played through by the lively Dele Alli, who is showing no signs of rustiness. Spurs' top scorer gets a shot off and draws a save from Angus Gunn, but the flag is up for offside.
Leicester 0-0 Fulham

16 minutes

Brendan Rodgers' Leicester are doing most of the early running against Fulham, who are looking for an elusive victory under caretaker boss Scott Parker. Harvey Barnes and Demarai Gray have looked lively in the opening stages.
GOAL!
GOAL! Newcastle 0-1 Everton (Calvert-Lewin)

18 minutes

Everton lead at St James' Park! Lucas Digne whips in a tantalising cross from the left and Dominic Calvert-Lewin is there to glance a header into the corner.
GOAL!
GOAL! Huddersfield 0-1 Bournemouth (Wilson)

19 minutes

Callum Wilson nets his 50th goal in a Bournemouth shirt after good work from Ryan Fraser, who adds another assist to his tally. The Cherries are in control in Yorkshire.
GOAL!
Leicester 1-0 Fulham (Tielemans)

21 minutes

Rodgers looks on with his delight as his Leicester side take a deserved lead. James Maddison plays Jamie Vardy through, and the striker picks out Youri Tielemans in space. He slots home to put the hosts in front.
Southampton 0-0 Tottenham

22 minutes

So close! Spurs are almost in front as Christian Eriksen curls a free kick over the wall and against the cross bar. The opening goal doesn't seem far away for the visitors.
GOAL!
GOAL! Southampton 0-1 Tottenham (Kane)

26 minutes

And there is the goal that has seemed inevitable since the start. Alli and Kane link up superbly again and the latter finishes with typical composure. That's his 17th Premier League goal of the season.
Newcastle 0-1 Everton

30 minutes

Newcastle have a penalty at St James' Park! Rondon, through on goal, is brought down by Pickford, and the goalkeeper gets away without a red card. A big chance for the hosts to level, though.
Newcastle 0-1 Everton

31 minutes

Pickford saves Ritchie's penalty with his legs and Newcastle are denied an equaliser! Their fans will be furious that Everton's goalkeeper is still on the pitch.
GOAL!
GOAL! Newcastle 0-2 Everton (Richarlison)

32 minutes

Drama at Newcastle! Almost immediately after the penalty miss, Everton break and score to double their lead. Andre Gomes' cross is pushed into the path of Richarlison, who makes no mistake from close range.
Southampton 0-1 Tottenham

37 minutes

Spurs are in complete control at St Mary's. The hosts, since the goal, have dropped deeper and are offering very little in terms of attacking threat. Another goal would make things comfortable for Pochettino and his players.
Southampton 0-1 Tottenham

41 minutes

Alli continues to cause problems for a nervy Southampton defence. His movement and vision in the final third - and his telepathic understanding with Kane - has been the highlight of this first half.
