With six matches remaining in the domestic season, Liverpool’s chase for their elusive first Premier League title has reached the tipping point. Jurgen Klopp’s side travel to Southampton, trailing Manchester City by just one point in the table.
The Reds cannot afford any slip-ups the rest of the way with City in fine form. Aside from a home match against Chelsea later in April, this away trip appears to be the toughest remaining test on their schedule.

Southampton won’t lay down for Liverpool one bit. The threat of relegation has somewhat subsided as they sit five points clear of Cardiff City for the third and final spot in the drop zone with a game in hand. The Saints are in pretty good form themselves, having won three of their last four, including an impressive win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool’s recent run of form has also been stellar. They haven’t lost a league game since January 3 when they fell to Man City. While they could very well run the table the rest of the way, that defeat could be the difference in winning the title or falling short once again. It’s up to them to do their part and take care of business. The rest will have to fall into place in the form of a City mishap. Will the Reds avoid falling behind in the title race or could Southampton ruin their chances?
