Southampton vs Liverpool LIVE: Premier League commentary stream, TV channel, latest score, line-ups, prediction

Southampton vs Liverpool
Premier League 2019-20 season
Venue: St Mary's
Kick-off time: 3pm BST

Liverpool are back in domestic action at Southampton this afternoon having tasted European glory against Chelsea in midweek.

Jurgen Klopp's Champions League holders added the Uefa Super Cup to their trophy cabinet on Wednesday night, with Adrian saved the decisive spot-kick in the penalty shootout.

While there may be a few tired legs after a draining 2-2 extra-time draw in humid conditions in Turkey, Klopp's men must focus on the task at hand - beating Ralph Hasenhuttl's Saints on the south coast.

Southampton vs Liverpool team news and predicted lineups

Adrian is a doubt after being injured by a pitch-invading fan after the Super Cup, with the supporter's slip on the pitch in Liverpool's shootout celebrations leading to a swollen ankle for the goalkeeper.

Adrian is optimistic of recovering in time, but Andy Lonergan is on hand if the the Spaniard missed out.

Sadio Mane could well start once again after two goals against Chelsea, and was likely taken off versus the Blues with Saturday's game in mind.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will almost certainly return to Klopp's starting XI along with Roberto Firmino, and Georginio Wijnaldum could come in for Fabinho after the Brazilian played 120 minutes vs Chelsea.

Nathaniel Clyne is out with an ACL injury, while Naby Keita missed the Super Cup due to a muscle strain and is out.

Southampton XI: Gunn, Bednarek, Stephens, Vestergaard, Valery, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Bertrand, Ings, Redmond, Adams

Liverpool XI: Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Matip, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Henderson, Salah, Firmino, Mane

Prediction: Southampton 1-3 Liverpool

Klopp's defence and midfield is still taking time to gel, and Southampton will fancy their chances of breaking on Liverpool.

However, the Saints know full well that nothing short of a near-perfect performance will do - and last weekend's 3-0 humbling at Burnley does not exactly suggest a positive result against Liverpool's front line.

TV channel and live stream information

The match will not be televised in the UK due to broadcasting restrictions from the FA, Premier League and Football League for games between 2.45pm and 5.15pm on a Saturday.
