Three defeats in four league games – as well as that chastening Capital One Cup defeat to Liverpool – have taken the sheen off Southampton’s start to the season and the visit of their former manager, Mauricio Pochettino, presents a good opportunity to blow the cobwebs away. Another defeat or two could see them looking over their shoulders and Ronald Koeman will be hoping that Graziano Pellè, who had an injection to his injured knee, will be fit and perform somewhere close to his brilliant best.
