Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl gives verdict on 'committed' Leeds United and Jesse Marsch

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is expecting a 'tough' game against a 'committed' and 'dangerous' Leeds United side on Saturday.

The Whites' trip to Hampshire marks their first away game of the new campaign, and they'll be looking to make it consecutive wins after beating Wolves at Elland Road last week. Leeds will be in confident mood given last weekend's victory, and they will also welcome back Liam Cooper, Adam Forshaw and Luis Sinisterra from injury.

Southampton were comfortably beaten at Tottenham on the opening day of the season, losing the game 4-1 despite taking the lead through James Ward-Prowse. Hasenhuttl was not happy with his side's performance in the defeat, labelling the mistakes made as 'simply not good enough for this level'.

"We know we need a reaction against a committed team," said Hasenhuttl. "We expect an intense game. We have to be prepared for a tough one.

"They're a very committed team with a similar style to us. The 4-2-2-2 is something they have built up and you see all their behaviours are there to be dangerous in this shape. They've done well in the summer to bring new players in."

Hasenhuttl is also looking forward to facing Jesse Marsch in the dugout for the second time. When Hasenhuttl was in charge at RB Leipzig, he invited Marsch - who was managing New York Red Bulls - to come and see how he and the club worked. Marsch was taken on a tour of his future club's facilities by Hasenhuttl and was allowed in tactical meetings to learn more about the game.

"I know him very well," the Austrian said. "We met the first time when I was at Leipzig when he was coming for a few days to visit. We had one game against each other and it was a good draw - an intense game."
