Southampton will be without key man Moussa Djenepo for the game against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl confirmed at his pre-match press conference today (Thursday) that Djenepo would miss the game against Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as he continues his recovery from a thigh injury.
Southampton go into the game buoyed by a 4-0 victory against bitter south coast rivals Portsmouth in the Carabao Cup third round on Tuesday, with Danny Ings netting twice for the Saints at Fratton Park.
But Saints will be without Djenepo, who missed the recent games against Bournemouth and Portsmouth with a thigh injury.
Djenepo, who joined Southampton in the summer from Standard Liege, has scored two goals in his first four matches for the Saints, with the Malian international netting in his side's victories against Brighton & Hove Albion and Sheffield United.
And Hasenhuttl said that there is currently no timeframe for when the 21-year-old could return.
"We have taken a few new pictures, but there isn't too much to say. He is still out and he will take some more time, " he said.
"He has had a very good impact in our team and everybody loves him. He has shown he can help us and he is a good guy, but it is not easy for him in this moment to have to wait for his next game."
Hasenhuttl also confirmed that goalkeeper Alex McCarthy is a doubt for the game with a muscle injury, with the Saints boss adding that a decision will need to be made as to whether he is available to feature in the matchday squad.
