Southampton back out of Olivier Ntcham transfer as Celtic star 'monitored' by Lyon and Porto

Southampton have reportedly backed out of a potential deal for Olivier Ntcham but Porto and Lyon are monitoring the Celtic star.

The Premier League side have been linked with the midfielder this summer after the departures of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Spurs and Mario Lemina to Fulham.

But Sky Sports claim Southampton are no longer interested in a move for the 24-year-old.

However, Porto and Lyon are monitoring the current situation of Ntcham.

The Portuguese side were credited with interest in the Frenchman last summer and it seems they have kept a close eye on him despite a move not materialising.

Lyon could appeal to Ntcham who would be given the opportunity to link up with former Celtic striker and compatriot Moussa Dembele.

Ntcham's future at Parkhead has been thrown in doubt after Neil Lennon told his wantaway stars to leave if they weren't happy at the club, following their Champions League exit.

The Celtic boss has since backtracked from those comments, but it's suspected he was referring to Ntcham after reports suggested his agent had approached the club to get a valuation ahead of a potential move away from Glasgow.
