Police are warning South Side residents after a pair robberies were reported in South Shore and Park Manor this month.

In both incidents, the suspects came up to someone from behind and struck them on the head with a blunt object before taking property, Chicago police said in an alert.

A robbery happened about 11:30 a.m. Sept. 1 in the 7100 block of South Bennett Avenue, police said. The other occurred about 10:30 p.m. Sept. 9 in the 7100 block of South Indiana Avenue.

The suspects in one case are described as two males between 6-foot-5 and 6-foot-7 and weighing 190-200 pounds, police said. In the other, the suspect was described as female.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
