South side pub's rooftop beer garden opens to public for the first time in 15 years

A southside pub has reopened its rooftop beer garden for the first time in 15 years.

The Beechings in Cathcart is welcoming back punters to its rooftop terrace, where you can grab a drink under the gazebo away from the hustle and bustle of Clarkston Road and take in views of the railway.

The pub is housed in the former ticket office of Cathcart train station, with the stairs leading up to the old platform.

Boss Celine said the car park has also been transformed into a beer garden, with picnic benches to accommodate more customers while adhering to social distancing.

So if you fancy getting some al fresco drinks and watching the trains go by, this is one to tick off  your list.

In the meantime, here's a round-up of pubs, bars and restaurants which have reopened in Glasgow – and there are 11 newly launched spots to try out too.

Follow The Beechings on Facebook to book a slot and for more info.
