South Queensferry's Hopetoun House venue of choice for a huge socially distanced 'drive-in rave'

Hopetoun House in South Queensferry is the venue of choice to host a huge socially distanced 'drive-in rave'.

The organisers from Fly Open Air dance music festival, a hugely popular event in Edinburgh which takes place in the summer, hope to secure permission from Edinburgh City Council for a socially distanced event.

Fly Open Air has taken place at the 17th century stately home in past and now the organisers hope to throw a huge party that people can enjoy from the comfort of their cars.

Hopetoun house has previously been featured on the set of popular tv show Outlander as well as period drama Belgravia.

The organisers got the inspiration for the event by looking at what was happening in the German party scene as they eased out of lockdown.

Like the drive in raves spotted in Germany, Scots who attend the event can enjoy dance music through their car radios while watching a DJ perform on stage.

If given the green light, the event could take place in July and it promises to feature a video wall, light and laser show, pyro cannons and even some fireworks to top it all off.
