South Park: when and where can I watch the latest episodes in the UK?

Trump in South Park - (Paramount)

Matt Stone and Trey Parker certainly like to keep themselves busy. The pair, who are the co-creators and showrunners for South Park, caused international headlines last week when the latest episode of their show aired.

Titled Sermon on the ‘Mount, it depicted current US President Donald Trump as being (literally) in bed with Satan, and suing the town of South Park when its residents challenged the presence of Jesus Christ (the person) in its elementary school.

The episode was accompanied by an AI-generated advert which imagined Trump walking through a desert, shedding clothes, to reveal a tiny, talking penis.

Unsurprisingly, the episode caused a lot of drama – which resulted in the White House itself issuing a statement.

“This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention,” White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers said. “President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history – and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.”

If there’s a better way to make sure everybody watches the episode, we can’t think of one – so with that in mind, here’s where to watch the next episode, and when it’s on.

How can I watch the new series?

In the UK, South Park was traditionally available to watch on Paramount+, until the platform lost its license to stream the episodes. While it might return at some point in the future, it can also be found on NOW, which is where the entire show (all 27 seasons and counting) can be streamed.

When is the next episode on?

The show was originally meant to air weekly, with Sermon on the ‘Mount serving as the series premiere of season 27.

Already, that’s been pushed back: the next episode is due to air on August 6, and teasers already show that ‘Trump’ will be making another appearance, this time alongside the controversial US immigration service ICE.

However, with a promised 10 episodes in the new season, expect plenty more to come.

Is season 27 the last season?

No – in fact, the South Park creators have just signed a whopping $1.5bn deal to make another 50 episodes, which suggests that there’s around five seasons left to deliver before it’s potentially renewed again. In other words, the show isn’t going anywhere.
