South Park Fans Reckon Its Latest Ep Was Axed Last Minute Over A Charlie Kirk Story

Agents of chaos, Trey Stone and Matt Parker, have announced that their upcoming South Park episode has been cancelled, claiming they “didn’t get it done in time”. However, fans reckon the reason behind the axe could surround Charlie Kirk‘s death.

On Wednesday, the pair issued a statement across the show’s social media accounts, confirming that this week’s South Park fix has been cancelled, claiming that this week’s shebang wasn’t complete in time for its slated premiere date.

“Apparently, when you do everything at the last minute, sometimes you don’t get it done,” the South Park creators penned in a shared statement.

“This one’s on us. We didn’t get it done in time.

“Thanks to Comedy Central and South Park fans for being so understanding. Tune in next week!”

Following the statement, the pair also shared a series of dates when fans can expect the new episodes to drop.

While Parker and Stone have claimed the episode’s cancellation was due to being incomplete, it’s been speculated that the real reason was that it might’ve poked fun at political commentator and MAGA head Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed in Utah last week.

You see, during this season of South Park, the show has been brutally roasting President Donald Trump and MAGA supporters.

On top of that, in a recent episode titled “Got A Nut”, Clyde Donovan launches a podcast where he spouts controversial views. Following the success of the podcast, Clyde then set up live debates at his school, challenging his peers to prove him wrong, which was extremely similar to what Kirk did before he died.

During this, Eric Cartman tries to take over Clyde’s success by taking over his live debates while dressed like Kirk. Elsewhere in the episode, Clyde was awarded the “Charlie Kirk Award for Young Master Debaters”.

However, following his death, Comedy Central wiped the episode from its platforms. However, at the time of writing, it’s still available on Paramount+.

Under South Park‘s official statement, fans have speculated the legitimate reason behind the cancellation, with many believing that the pair were going to touch on Kirk.

“After the Charlie Kirk assassination, one could fairly assume that Trey and Matt had just like 200 calls with [Comedy Central’s] standards and practices department, just to see what they could get away with. I thought this might happen, but I’m sure they’ll figure out a way to get it done,” one fan speculated.

“You know they’re pacing back and forth wondering if they shoot Cartman or not,” another commented.

“Eh I bet they had CK recurring in the season and had to rewrite someone else in… he was so extreme I bet they had fun writing his part,” a third penned.

South Park‘s announcement comes a couple of hours before the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) said it was “indefinitely” pulling Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air following Jimmy Kimmel‘s comments about Kirk.

Per CNN, during his opening monologue, Kimmel alleged that the lead suspect in Kirk’s murder — 22-year-old Tyler Robinson — was also a MAGA supporter.

“The MAGA Gang [is] desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said, the publication reports.

“In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving.”

At the time of writing, Kimmel himself hasn’t responded to his show being pulled off the air. However, a slew of celebrities have backed the comedian and condemned ABC’s decision to axe his show.
