South Park took on Donald Trump on Wednesday, in an episode ending with the Republican presidential candidate meeting a particularly violent death.

The episode of the satirical Comedy Central cartoon, titled Where My Country Gone?, parodies Trump’s stances on immigration and border security. Trump has been elected Canada’s leader, prompting a mass exodus of Canadians towards the US.

Recurring character Mr Garrison grows incensed at the number of illegal Canadian immigrants coming to the US and starts a campaign to get rid of them. His solution is to “fuck them all to death” and then “build a big wall”.

“Now I might not understand politics, or immigration policies, or the law, or basic ideological concepts,” Garrison, absorbing a great deal of Trump’s spirit and style, tells supporters. “But dammit I understand there’s a bunch of Canadians here, and I’m going to do something about it.”

South Park has never been tame in taking down public figures, but Wednesday night’s episode was its first pointed jab at Trump since the real estate mogul made a brief appearance in the show’s fifth season in 2001.

One Canadian in the episode explains how Trump was elected: “There were several candidates during the Canadian elections. One of them was this brash asshole who just spoke his mind. He didn’t really offer any solutions, he just said outrageous things. We thought it was funny. Nobody really thought he’d ever be president. It was a joke! But we just let the joke go on for too long. He kept gaining momentum, and by the time we were ready to say, OK, let’s get serious now, who should really be president, he was already being sworn into office. We weren’t paying attention … We weren’t paying attention!”

In the episode Garrison goes on to cross the border illegally via Niagara Falls, and then wanders an apocalyptic Canada until he finds himself in Trump’s penthouse office, where the two wrestle. Garrison then rapes Trump to death.

The episode received a mixed reaction on social media, with people unsure whether or not the takedown of Trump was brilliant satire or completely tasteless.
