South Norwood attack: Teen rushed to hospital after 'acid' thrown on him during fight

A 16-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after a suspected acid attack following a fight.

Metropolitan Police said the teenager was found to have had a "corrosive substance thrown at him" in South Norwood, south London.

No arrests have been made.

A cordon has been put up in the area as officers investigate the horror.

"He was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a South London hospital for treatment," a spokesman for the Met said.

"His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"There have been no arrests and enquiries continue."

One person tweeted: "Some boy in South Norwood got acid dashed in his face today.

"I just don’t understand why people are so evil man."

It comes after ten people were hurt  after an alleged chemical attack in a pub car park.

Police were called to reports of 'large scale disorder' near a car park for The Cricketers pub in Aylestone, a suburb of Leicester.

Some of those fighting had been carrying baseball bats, according to witnesses.
