South Manchester presents spooky spectacular events for Halloween Holiday 2022

Halloween is almost here, and although there's plenty of big events taking place across Greater Manchester this month, there are also lots of local events taking place to get involved in with your community.

It's not just the traditional trick-or-treating most people get participating with when spending Halloween close to home, but plenty of local events to get involved with.

From Halloween parties to fancy-dress walk and cycle routes, firework displays, or getting stuck in with crafts and pumpkin carving activities, South Manchester's residents have assembled various get-together events for you for the spooky season this month.

Firework Displays at Broughton Park Rugby Club

Join the annual Halloween and Fireworks Spooktacular event at Broughton Park on the 30th October with Halloween dress-up, music, and grand-standing firework displays.

They will be hosting outdoor food and bar tuck shops with a large marquee should the common Manchester weather arrive. With the option for indoor and outdoor ticket options this year (indoor first-come-first-served), tickets available from £7.50-£3.00. Gates open from 5pm. Click the link to purchase tickets here.

Halloween Costume Cycling at Cringle Park

Happy Halloween is taking place this autumn at Cringle Park with tons of free activities on Saturday 29th October. From arts and crafts, face-paint, pumpkin rodeo, bouncy castles, and thriller dance tutorials, there's plenty of playful interaction for your children.

Come down from 11.00-4.30pm too, for a spooky cycle trail with Station South, a destination cycle café, bar, and bike workshop geared for plenty of good food, drink, and free adult bike training. Grab your best costumes as prizes will be awarded for best dressed kids and dogs.

Festive Spooky Painting at Benito Lounge

Halloween spells the time for lots of creative ideas from pumpkin carving, house decorating, and festive costumes. Here, Benito are creating their own spin of that creativity, with instructor led parent and child paint workshops for Halloween half term.

Pre-drawn canvas's will be provided along with brushes, paint, palettes and aprons where children can paint creatively under the special Hocus Pocus edition. Join the Anderson sister's with fancy dress costumes, and prizes available to best dressed outfits. Food and drink can be purchased at the event, that takes place on 27th October 10:00-12:00pm. Children's Halloween Party at Withington Baths

On Saturday 29th October 4:30-6:30pm Withington Baths presents hauntingly festive fun and games, so that children can try out a variety of spooky Halloween activities.

There will be pumpkin painting as staff keep the little one's busy, as Bathhouse Café provide adults with plenty of food and drink, such as pumpkin lattes and ginger cake. To purchase tickets pop into the Bathhouse café and receive one there.

Spooky Trail to take place in Chorlton (Totally Gruesome)

Chorlton’s Spooky Trail

Journey through Chorlton Water Park this Halloween and experience their spooky trail that weaves from a central lake, surrounded by woodlands and wildflower meadows. This free event takes place from 24th-30th October at 9am-4pm.

There will also be a Halloween lead the way group walk in Chorlton Water Park, where you can join for free and bring your dogs for a sociable, festive meet-up. The walk is approximately 90 minutes, starting at 11:00am on Sunday 30th October.

There will be a list of activities provided on Saturday 29th October for Gorton Park’s Halloween event.

With sticker trails and sweet cones at the end of a Halloween search, to carving your own pumpkin, and making your own spooky masks. The event starts at 2pm with prizes for best fancy dress.

The creativity continues to take place at St Clements Church, where CMM Theatre School are providing a Halloween spooky weekend on 29th and 30th October.

There is two days of entertainment from baking, slime workshops, spooky yoga, self defence games and disco dances. The events will take place from 11am-3pm.

Cocktail Trick-or-Treats in Urmston

The Lowry’s Yard are preparing for Halloween evening fun with free entry for a night packed with music, sweet treats, and their Halloween cocktail specials. Costumes are encouraged for their festive event, taking place on October 28th from 7pm onwards.
