South London mum catches Uber Eats rider eating her McDonalds order

A mum claims she tracked down her McDonald's delivery when her meal went missing - only to discover the Uber Eats driver “enjoying her meal”.

Bianca Green ordered a double sausage and egg McMuffin meal on November 11 after dropping her kids off at school and waited in her car for the driver.

The 36-year-old said the tracker showed her order was two minutes away before it changed to five minutes.

The determined mum set off to find the driver and was shocked when she saw him standing next to his bike with her food.

Footage shows the driver holding a McDonald's cup, which Bianca claims he had been drinking and which she says was part of her order.

Bianca can be heard asking the man why he is eating her food, to which he replies he had an injury and had no energy.

The mum-of-three said the man offered to buy her a new McDonald's, which she refused.

She believes he would have carried on consuming her meal if she hadn't interrupted him.

In the video, Bianca says: "Why would you stop at McDonald's, pick up my food, and then stop and eat it."

The man can be heard saying: "McDonald's is 2.2 kilometres away."

Later in the video, Bianca says: "If you could buy McDonald's in the first place, why would you eat mine?

"You can cancel it. You're sitting there with your hands in my food, I don't want it."

Uber Eats said that what Bianca had described was “unacceptable” and confirmed their specialist team is urgently investigating the matter.

Bianca, from Croydon, London, said: "I wasn't feeling well and I dropped my kids to school and planned my Uber to arrive when I arrive at home so I can just take my food and go to bed.

"I was waiting in the car for the food to arrive because it said it was two minutes away.

"Then it went to five minutes away, so I thought there is no way that's possible.

"I went to track him again and I saw the bike wasn't moving. I said I've got time today, I'm in the car already and it was only a two-minute drive.

"I followed the tracker to where he was and I said 'oh my gosh, he is eating my food.'

"I started recording him, I just couldn't believe it. He said it was an accident and that there was nothing he could do but I had no compassion for him.

"He gave me the story that he hurt his hand but he was holding the cup in one hand and his phone in the other. I just knew he was lying.

"Rather than cancelling you're just sitting there eating it. I just couldn't believe it, I really didn't think I was going to catch him.

"He said he couldn't open his eyes [as he was tired], then he said he had an accident, then he said his hand was hurting, he said he will take me to McDonald's to buy me a new McDonald's.

"If you can buy a McDonald's, why did you not get your own McDonald's?

"You're sitting there on the wall with your legs crossed. If you had an accident you would go to A&E not eat my food.

"If you really need a drink the shop is right there. He had every intention of eating my food."

Bianca sent a photo of the driver to Uber and says she received a full refund for her £16 order from McDonald's.

Bianca said: "I sent Uber a picture of him. They said I still have to wait 20 minutes to request a refund.

"I went to McDonalds and they said they will pass on the complaint. They gave me a refund.

"It was hilarious. Everyone was like 'I can't believe you were so calm'. I'm surprised I didn't use any swear words but I think I was in such shock.

"I really didn't think I would get there and see him eating it, I thought his tire was broken and I could just get my food from him and go home.

"I didn't think it would turn into that."

Bianca's viral video has gathered more than 67,000 views online, with commenters shocked at the driver's behaviour.

One commenter said: "He's saying a whole load of nothing."

Another said: "This is the reason I would never order from Uber Eats."

Another said: "Delivery guy has no right to eat someone else's food."

One said: "Cheekily outrageous."

But another said: "Leave him alone he was hungry. Don't embarrass him for it."

Uber Eats said that all couriers who use the app must complete background checks and if they are found to be in breach of their community guidelines or acting unlawfully they will take appropriate action, including removing access to the app.

An Uber Eats spokesperson said: "What's described is unacceptable and our specialist team are urgently investigating this matter."
