South Lanarkshire Council seeking feedback on provision of sanitary products

South Lanarkshire Council has launched a survey seeking feedback from residents on how it should deliver sanitary products.

Since 2019, the Community Planning Partnership has been providing period products to public buildings, leisure and culture facilities and to community and voluntary organisations around the area.

However, due to Covid forcing venues across South Lanarkshire to close, the council introduced an online ordering system where products were sent to home addresses.

This is part of the wider Scottish Government aim to tackle period poverty in the country.

The Period Products (Free Provision) (Scotland) Bill puts a legal duty on councils to provide free period products.

The council aims to develop the project further and make it more accessible. People across South Lanarkshire are being asked to take part in the survey which will help to shape the future of sanitary products in the area.
