Parents in South Lanarkshire can almost start planning their holidays for the 2022/23 session.
That's after South Lanarkshire Council (SLC) unveiled the proposed dates for when the children will be off.
A draft proposal of the school holidays has already been drawn up and will be considered by the education committee on Tuesday, November 9.
Children are required by law to attend school for 190 days with teachers working 195 days.
With that in mind it is proposed that the teachers return on August 15, 2022, after the summer holidays with the pupils coming back on August 17.
The September weekend will take place on Friday, September 23, with pupils and staff back in on Monday, September 26.
The October week is proposed to run from Monday to Friday, October 17 to 21. Pupils return on Monday, October 24.
An in-service day is also scheduled for Monday, November 14.
Christmas will see South Lanarkshire schools close at 2.30pm on Friday, December 23, 2022.
Schools are proposed to re-open on Monday, January 9, 2023.
A break in February for pupils is scheduled for Monday, February 6 and Tuesday, February 7 with a possible change to February 13 and 14.
An in-service day is also scheduled in for Wednesday, February 8 which could change to Wednesday, February 15.
The spring break could start at 2.30pm on Friday, March 31 and end on Monday, April 17. Good Friday will fall on April 7.
The first May holiday is scheduled to fall on Monday, May 1, with another in-service day on May 2.
The second May bank holiday will see the schools closed on Friday, May 26 and Monday, May 29 except for schools in Lanark, which will be closed on June 8 and 9.
And, the date all the kids will want highlighted in their diaries will be Tuesday, June 27 when the summer holidays are scheduled to begin at 1pm.
Finally, teachers are set to return on August 14, 2023 after the summer holidays with the pupils coming back on August 16.
