The Hamilton Area Committee met at South Lanarkshire Council to award its latest batch of community grants.

At its meeting last week, in the council HQ (above), councillors awarded more than £1200 to five community groups across the area.

The seniors’ section at Eddlewood Bowling Club picked up £250 for an outing and entrance fees.

Hamilton Caledonian Bowling Club got the same amount for its seniors’ section and that cash will also go towards an outing and entrance fees.

The winter section at Hamilton Bowling Club received £200 for an outing.

Larkhall Burns Club also picked up £200 for an outing.

And Larkhall Youth Group was given £350 for specialist transport and entrance fees.

There is a total allocation of £25,750 for community grants in the Hamilton area for 2019/20, of which £16,460 has been previously allocated – meaning there is £9290 left for the rest of the financial year.
