South Korea too strong for Thai spikers

Thai spikers lost to South Korea 3-0 at Nakhon Pathom Sports Centre Gymnasium on Sunday.

The Thai female volleyball team suffered their first defeat in the World Championship qualifying matches with a 3-0 loss to South Korea on Sunday.

The Koreans won the contest 25-22, 25-16, 25-21 during another sold-out event at Nakhon Pathom Sports Centre Gymnasium in Nakhon Pathom.

Both teams have qualified for the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship from Sept 29 to Oct 20 in Japan next year. The results from their Sunday match will be used to establish seed rankings in the world championship.

Thailand qualified after beating North Korea on Saturday, and never lost a set until the match on Sunday. South Korea maintained their clean sheet, not losing a single set throughout the competition.
