The South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust is set to announce the appointment of Roisin Coulter as its new chief executive.
Ms Coulter, who is currently director of the Covid-19 vaccination programme at the trust, brings extensive board level experience to the role.
The new appointee had previously been the Director of Planning, Performance and Informatics for the South Eastern Trust.
She has also held a number of positions within Children’s and Maternity Services, prior to leading the Strategic and Capital Development programme for the Trust since 2007.
The new appointment for the trust comes after Seamus McGoran held the interim chief executive position for over two years.
It's understood that Ms Coulter will officially take on the position from July 1.
In an updated Chair's report, Acting Chairman Jonathan Patton said that Roisin Coulter had been selected after a "professional, composed, articulate, knowledgeable and confident" interview.
Mr Patton added: "Our own home-grown Roisin Coulter will take up her position of Chief Executive and will lead the Trust out of Covid-19 into a changed world that has stretched our staff, diminished our financial resources and urgently needs agile, fleet of foot and innovative responses more than ever.
"Roisin will need courageous thinking and a reservoir of resilience to take on arguably one of the key public sector Chief Executive roles in Northern Ireland.
"As a board, we must get behind her, support her, encourage her and push her on to new horizons in this challenging environment to ensure we continue to do our best for staff and those we care for.
"I know we as individuals and collectively as a board will not be found wanting when Roisin steps into the role."
