South Dubliners warned about scammers calling door-to-door

South Dubliners have been warned to be on alert after reports of fraudulent fundraising.

Scammers were knocking on doors in the Quarryvale area, near Liffey Valley, on Sunday night claiming to be raising money for the Quarryvale Community and Youth Centre.

However, the centre said they do not to door-door fundraising and the fraudsters are not affiliated with them in any way.

They said on social media: "It has come to our attention that people were going door-to-door last night claiming to be fundraising for the centre by doing a 5km run.

"This information is false, we do not do door-to-door fundraising. If someone knocks on your door making these claims, please be aware they in no way represent the Centre."

Dublin Live has contacted An Garda Siochana for comment.
