South Dublin pub forced to temporarily close due to positive COVID-19 case

Another Dublin pub has been forced to temporarily close its doors once again due to a positive COVID-19 case.

The Blue Light pub in the rural South Dublin village of Barnacullia confirmed this evening that they will shut their doors after a staff member tested positive for the coronavirus.

The staff are all being tested and a deep clean of the bar will take place before the doors reopen.

They posted on Facebook: "We have decided to close The Blue Light temporarily with immediate effect because one of our staff members tested positive for COVID-19 this evening.

"We will open again when all our staff have been tested, and we have completed a deep sanitisation of all the areas.

"Thanks for your support."

The much loved local received a number of messages off support, including from local Labour Party councillor Peter O'Brien.

He said: "Sorry to hear this. Hope the staff member get well soon. Best of luck to Pat and all the team. I’ll be first back once you open again."
