A south Dublin park has been wrecked for the sixth time after mindless vandals dumped toxic chemicals all over the grass.
St Michael's Park in Dun Laoghaire has been regularly targeted by careless goons pouring motor oil which has resulted in extensive damage.
A frustrated resident told Dublin Live that this time the vandals used laundry detergent as well as the motor oil.
He said: "As you can see from the pictures, [the laundry detergent] is highly toxic.
"This is dangerous and to be honest nothing has been done about it even though I have reported it to the council and the EPA.
"I was told that the EPA will investigate but when I pushed them for answers they said that they can’t tell me anything more. And the EPA say it's a council issue."
Shocking pictures shared by the resident show substantial damage including blackened areas and empty patches where the grass refuses to grow.
Locals have been warned as both motor oil and laundry detergent are highly toxic especially to kids and pets.
The resident went on to say that there is CCTV at the location and "it’s very hard for the council not to know" who vandalised the park.
Dublin Live has contacted the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and the EPA for a comment.
