South Dublin community mourning loss of long-serving resident and 'lovely lady' Lilian Woodhouse

A south Dublin community is in mourning following the death of one of their longest-serving residents.

95-year-old Lilian "Lil" Woodhouse passed away last night at a nursing home.

Lilian was one of the longest remaining residents of historic Kilmainham Lane, and the local community group on Facebook paid their tributes to a woman who had a massive impact on their lives.

"It is with sadness that I post the death of Lillian "Lil" Woodhouse," they wrote.

"Lil died in St Gladys Nursing Home in Harold’s Cross last night. Lil was one of the longest residents residing on Kilmainham Lane. She was now in her 95th year.

"She is survived by her son John and son-in-law Bill.

"Arrangements to follow later. May she Rest in Peace."

Locals shared their condolences with Lil's family and loved ones.

One said: "Mrs Woodhouse was a lovely lady, Rest in Peace."

Another wrote: "Another old neighbour gone, my condolences to her family and friends."

And a third said: "Sleep well and rest well Lil."
