South Dublin catalytic converter thief sweeps Sandyford car park within ten minutes

Further catalytic converter thefts have taken place across Dublin, with two cars nabbed in the same car park within the space of ten minutes.

The latest incident happened at the Aldi car park at the Boulevard in Rockbrook, Sandyford when two Toyota cars were targeted.

And for one of the car owners, it was the second time in the space of a year that the catalytic converter has been stolen from their vehicle.

Gardai were called to the scene and checked CCTV, but no arrests have yet been made. One of the car owners is now appealing for anyone who may have dashcam footage and who was in the car park at the time to get in touch.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating a theft from two motor vehicles that occurred in the car park of a retail premises in Sandyford at approximately 2pm yesterday afternoon, Friday 27th November 2020. No arrests have been made, investigations ongoing."
