South Belfast alert over as "nothing untoward" found

A security alert in South Belfast has ended and the ‘suspicious object’ that sparked it has been declared “nothing untoward”.

The alert took place in the Finaghy Road South area.

The PSNI said they received a report on Monday morning.

Issuing an update, a PSNI spokesperson said: "The security alert in the Finaghy Road South area of Belfast is now over.

"A search was carried out of the area and nothing untoward was found."
