South Ayrshire is the vainest area in Scotland, according to a recent study.
Leading independent hair and beauty distributor, Chris & Sons, mapped the number of hairdressers and beauty salons per 100,000 people across the entire UK to find out the vainest areas.
And South Ayrshire came out top as the most concentrated hair and beauty spot in Scotland with 89 salons per 100,000 people, ensuring residents are kept well-groomed and on fleek.
The local authority area was followed by Glasgow City, also with 89 shops, Dundee City with 87 and South Lanarkshire with 80.
The least vain areas in the country included the Shetland Islands with 21 shops, Na h-Eileanan Siar with 37 and the Scottish Borders with 39 shops.
Andrew Vassiliou, director of Chris & Sons, said: “It’s no surprise that us Brits like to keep well-groomed, however, we were shocked to find out that back in 2019, a record-breaking £8.6 billion was spent at hairdressers and personal care salons in the UK.
“We know first hand that the hairdressing and beauty industry has been one of the hardest hit by the UK’s pandemic lockdowns, with turnover falling by an average of 45 per cent in 2020 compared to 2019.
“However, we are confident that the industry will continue to bounce back and grow, just as it did before.”
Chris & Sons furnish salons, barbers, spas and clinics across Europe and supply equipment, specialist tools of the trade and products including hair dye and toners, gel and nail polish, lashes, and tanning goods.
