An South Australian woman charged with the criminal neglect of her two-year-old son has been granted permission to have supervised visits with all four of her children, including the alleged victim.
Emma Jade Short appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today, when her lawyer, David Moen, applied for a bail variation which was not opposed.
Mr Moen said the bail variation allowed the accused to have in-person contact with her children, under the supervision of the Department for Child Protection.
He said the court also granted Ms Short permission to have unsupervised contact with her children via phone and social media.
Police have previously alleged the two-year-old was brought to the Blair Athol Medical Clinic on August 8 with burns and bruises so serious that he spent nine days in the Women's and Children's Hospital.
In a previous appearance in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court, Mr Moen said Ms Short could not have burned her son during the three-minute window she was at the motel where the alleged neglect occurred.
Ms Short's partner — who is also the boy's uncle — is also charged with criminal neglect.
