The number of new COVID-19 cases in South Australia has again jumped above 1,600, bucking a downward trend in recent days.

There have also been two further deaths — a man in his 80s and a man in his 90s.

The 1,618 confirmed cases in the latest reporting period takes the state's total active cases to 15,870.

There are 111 people in hospital with coronavirus, including nine people in intensive care. Two are on ventilators.

There have been 179 deaths in SA since the start of the pandemic, including 175 since November.

A total of 10,028 people underwent PCR tests in the state yesterday.

SA Health said vaccine boosters had been administered to 68.1 per cent of the eligible population.

SA recorded 1,358 COVID cases yesterday and one death, a man in his 80s.

The Kilkenny COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Adelaide's north is closed today due to water damage from yesterday's heavy downpour.
