South Australia begins countdown to end of 'circuit breaker' lockdown

SA Premier Steven Marshall says there have been no new cases of community transition recorded overnight, as the CHO reveals how the outbreak was discovered.

Here's a summary of what happened on Saturday:

  • South Australia will ease its lockdown earlier than expected
  • Victoria recorded its 22nd consecutive day without a new case of COVID-19
  • NSW recorded its 14th consecutive day of no locally acquired cases
  • Queensland recorded two cases from returned travellers.
  • Western Australia recorded one new case from a return traveller
  • From 11:59pm AEDT, those entering Victoria from South Australia will need a permit
