South Alabama WR Jamarius Way talks Bengals, A.J. Green

The NFL scouting combine is a hectic time when it comes to players meeting with the media. Or at least the top players. The combine is also a chance to interact and possibly unearth diamonds in the rough.

While wide receiver may not be a huge position of need, it’s always interesting to talk to players at the combine and get their thoughts on teams they’ve met with and about the teams in general.

When sitting down with South Alabama WR Jamarius Way, he mentioned one of the teams he met with this week was the Bengals. He also mentioned Minnesota, Washington, Miami, Denver and Baltimore.

Way talked about the possibility of working in head coach Zac Taylor’s system and being a part of the Bengals and he said “it’d be crazy” to be a part of the Bengals, to help out A.J. Green and also mentioned John Ross.

Way was certainly productive during his time at South Alabama, catching 61 passes for 855 yards and eight touchdowns in 2018. He’s very confident in himself, saying he’s hoping to run a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash. He also feels his best fit is on the outside and loves running post routes and corner routes. Anything to continue to take pressure off of A.J. Green and even Tyler Boyd would be a huge plus for the Bengals.
