South Africa win toss, opt to bowl against India in third T20I

NEW DELHI: South Africa skipper Aiden Markram won the toss and opted to bowl in the third and final T20I against India at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Thursday.

India have opted to maintain a consistent playing XI, keeping an unchanged side from the previous game. On the other hand, the Proteas have made three changes to their lineup, making adjustments from the side that secured victory against the tourists in the second T20I.

The hosts have introduced some notable changes to their lineup as left-arm quick Nandre Burger is set to make his debut, marking a significant moment in his cricket career.

Additionally, spinner Keshav Maharaj and Donovan Ferreira have also been included in the playing XI, adding diversity to the bowling options and bringing a fresh dynamic to the team.

South Africa are leading the three-match series 1-0, with one match rained off.

"We are gonna bowl first again. Fresh wicket, happy with how we chased the other night. There's room for improvement in all aspects. Opportunity tonight to fix that. It's big (to win a series against India). Great occasion, hopefully the boys can express themselves. We've got three changes. Kesh comes back, Nandre Burger gets his debut and Donovan Ferreira comes in for Stubbs," said Markram after winning the toss.

"We wanted to put runs on the board and defend. Looks like a good track, don't think it'll change much. That's the brand of play we want to play, guys want to be fearless. Lots of positives from the last game. Same playing XI," said India skipper Suryakumar Yadav at the toss.
