South Africa 'could be stripped of Lions series victory' after Rassie Erasmus video

Rassie Erasmus' 62-minute rant could cost the Springboks their series victory over the Lions, according to reports in South Africa.

After the first Test, which the Lions won 22-17, a video of the Boks director was released to the public. In it, Erasmus highlighted a considerable number of decisions that he perceived to be incorrect.

Erasmus is now facing a disciplinary hearing and reports in Rapport claim that one punishment could be stripping the world champions of their second Test victory.

In turn, this would result in a drawn series.

The report also states that World Rugby could go one step further and overturn the result in the Lions' favour, making them series winners.

The video overshadowed the build-up to the second Test against the Lions but, ultimately, the Springboks won the final two Test matches to rescue the series.

In the video, Erasmus details 26 decisions which he believed to be wrong in the series curtain-raiser and also suggested that his captain, Siya Kolisi, was shown less respect that Alun Wyn Jones.

The video was published on Vimeo but Erasmus' lawyers initially denied that he'd personally leaked the tape.
