More sources have come forward amid the Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour saga, this time relating to the recent Stranger Things premiere and the original report that kickstarted it all.
ICYMI, the co-stars have been making headlines thanks to a Daily Mail report that, prior to filming the upcoming fifth and final season of Stranger Things, Brown filed a complaint with Netflix accusing Harbour of bullying and harassment during their time on the show.
Brown — who plays Eleven opposite Harbour’s Jim Hopper — reportedly lodged “pages and pages” of accusations against the actor, prompting an internal investigation into his behaviour that “went on for months”, a source claimed.
At the height of the chatter, both stars appeared at Stranger Things’ season five premiere in Los Angeles earlier this week, where they were seen hugging and smiling while on the red carpet. But some insiders reckon the chummy display was all for show.
That’s according to Variety, which reported it had heard from PR experts who said “the red carpet choreography… was meant to send a message that the cast is united, and that the show is bigger than any one person”.
“The goal in these situations is to make it no worse,” a PR exec said.
Variety went on to cite Netflix seemingly leaning in to imagery of Brown and Harbour’s appearance, including its official Instagram account sharing a clip of the pair embracing in front of fans at the premiere.
But the tea from the premiere didn’t stop there.
Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer and executive producer Shawn Levy were asked directly about the reports on the red carpet by The Hollywood Reporter.

“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them,” Ross said.
Meanwhile, Levy reiterated the “family” atmosphere among the cast while addressing the reports of a feud. “I’ve read a bunch of stories and they range from wildly inaccurate to… there’s so much noise around it,” Levy said.
“But the truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family, and so we treat each other with respect,” he added.
Elsewhere in its report, Variety revealed it had spoken with sources close to the situation who confirmed there was an investigation into Brown’s complaint, and that it was resolved.
All of this without even mentioning West End Girl, the new album from Harbour’s ex-wife Lily Allen that goes into astonishing depth as to his alleged infidelity. Yep, it’s been a rough month for David Harbour.
