It appears Gorgui Dieng will remain in Minnesota for a while.
A source said that Dieng _ the power forward who has posted double-doubles in each of the Wolves' first two games this season _ and the Wolves have agreed with the team on a four-year, $64 million contract extension.
The Wolves still face an 11 p.m. Monday deadline to sign Shabazz Muhammad to an extension. If he does not sign, he will become a restricted free agent following the season.
Dieng was drafted with the 21st overall pick in the 2013 draft by Utah, which then traded him and Muhammad (drafted 14th) to the Wolves for the rights to Trey Burke, whom the Wolves had taken at No. 9.
Dieng averaged 4.8 points and 13.6 minutes in 60 games as a rookie. Those numbers rose to 9.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 30 minutes in 2014-15. Last season Dieng started 39 of 82 games, averaging 10.1 points and 7.1 rebounds.
In two games this season, Dieng has started and averaged 13.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks while averaging better than 34 minutes per game.
