Two Titans players were fined for egregious penalties against the Bears in their Week 9 game, a source said.

Titans safety Kevin Byard was flagged for a facemask penalty against Bears wide receiver Anthony Miller with five minutes remaining and was fined $10,000 for it. His teammate, safety Amani Hooker, committed an unnecessary-roughness penalty on Miller as well, but he was not fined.

Titans defensive end Jack Crawford was fined, however, for his roughing-the-passer penalty against Bears quarterback Nick Foles. That hit cost him $6,985.

While Byard and Crawford’s penalties were expensive, the Bears’ penalties were more costly on the field in a game they lost 24-17.

They had five accepted penalties for a total of 35 yards. They sustained back-to-back penalties by left tackle Charles Leno and right tackle Rashaad Coward late in the first half to sink a that possession, and botched a fourth-and-one on a false start by rookie guard Arlington Hambright.
