BCCI president and former Indian Cricket captain Saurav Ganguly may be discharged from Woodlands hospitals in the next one or two days, doctors treating him said on Monday.
Rupali Basu, MD and CEO of Woodland Hospital said that medical team will again sit and if Mr Ganguly “is found alright he may be discharged not tomorrow and but day after tomorrow”.
Mr. Ganguly was admitted to Woodlands Hospital on Saturday with chest discomfort, heaviness of head, vomiting and a spell of dizziness while performing physical exercise in the home gymnasium. The 48-year-old cricket icon suffered a mild heart attack on Saturday an angioplasty was performed on him later in the evening.

Earlier in the day, a medical board of nine doctors met at the hospital and sought the opinion of renowned experts and cardiac surgeons such as Devi Shetty, RK Panda, Samuel Mathew and Aswin Mehta from different cities in India and Shamin K Sharma from Mount Sinai New York.
“The medical records and his clinical condition of Mr Sourav Ganguly were reviewed by the board members. The unanimous decision was that an appropriate timely excellent treatment of primary PTCA (Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty) with revascularisation of RCA (Right Cardiac Artery) was rendered during the acute heart attack stage,” a statement issued by the hospital said.
The members of the board along with the experts also had a discussion was also on the two other coronary blockages viz LAD and OM2 need to be treated by angioplasty.
“The consensus of the board was that deferring the angioplasty for now is deemed to be a safer option since Mr Ganguly is stable, without any chest pain and is on optimal medical management,” the statement added. The hospital authorities said that members of Mr Ganguly were present during the board meeting and they were explained about the disease process and further therapeutic plan.
Among the people visiting the hospital to inquire about the health was former BCCI president and Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur. “He ( Mr Ganguly) has defeated a lot of opponents and seen a lot of highs and lows in cricket field…. He will soon be completely healthy and start his work for cricket through BCCI and CAB,” Mr. Thakur said.
