Souleymane Coulibaly in stinging Gary Caldwell parting shot after Partick Thistle sack boss

Souleymane Coulibaly has taken a parting shot at Gary Caldwell after he was sacked by Partick Thistle .

The Firhill side parted ways with the former Celtic defender this morning after a dreadful start to the season.

The Jags are currently second bottom of the Championship table and have not registered a win in their first five games.

And Coulibaly was quick to stick the knife into his former manager after hearing the news.

He tweeted: "Finally it was time. Better now than later and hope this fantastic football club with those wonderful fans have a chance to get a better staff & manager to make that promotion happen."

The ex- Kilmarnock forward was released by Thistle in the summer after only making three appearances for the club.

Partick signed Coulibaly after he walked out on Al Ahly after four months.

FIFA concluded that either the 24-year-old or Thistle owed the Egyptian side a £1million settlement after he breached the rules of his contract.

After Caldwell's exit, the club announced striker Kenny Miller, chief executive Gerry Britton and academy director Scott Allison will take charge of the squad for this weekend's match against Dunfermline.
